One of the most common questions I get is, do I do videography as well. And my answer is, “No, BUT I know some AMAZING people who do!”
I have been working in the wedding industry as a photographer since 2010, so you would think that I have met a lot of great videographers. But, the truth is, I have met a LOT of not so great videographers. Ones who come with so much clunky equipment, they get in the way of important moments, they block the view of your guests, they are always in the background of your photos, and take up a lot of time “staging” these pretty cheesy moments, and therefor taking up precious time on your wedding day.
So here is a list of my recommended videographers! As well as my top picks for band, DJ, and hair.

Do you know how many DJ’s out there think that YOUR wedding is their “night club”, and that they are SO cool? … Yeah… But not Ben! :) Ben is the sweetest guy, and he has such a genuine love for music! I wish so bad that I met him when I was planning my wedding. Not only will he only get on the mic when it is helpful and appropriate, he will get your dance floor bumping!!! He is so professional, and will help your evening run smoothly without being the center of attention. He is the best!

I worked with these two gentlemen and it was a total surprise compared to so many larger fancy-pants New Jersey DJs… Because they cared about what the couple wanted, on THEIR day. The groom wanted to give his bride 15 gifts before the reception started, and it took some time. Most DJ’s would have been having a fit! Because, it would be “cutting into their set”, or something… But these guys were like, “Okay cool, we are ready when you are”. Ahhhhhh, you have no idea how nice that was to hear! :)

Lion + Tiger Band

Great sound quality, talented, and lots of fun! The bride and groom said this band was the highlight of their wedding, and I can see why! :) They also did a beautiful job with the wedding ceremony. And when it comes to your reception, you want to feel the live music in your soul, but you don’t want to feel a ringing in your ears the next day from the band playing so unbelievably loud that the guests have to leave the room to talk. They were one of the only bands I have worked with that filled the room with good vibes, without blasting the speakers.

First a mini tidbit on hair and makeup… It’s not only important to look great on your wedding day, (because those pictures are forever! wink wink.) But your getting ready experience can set the pace for the day. If hair and makeup runs behind, that means something else will have to give. It could mean less photos, or that you have to chug your second mimosa, rather than sip it. We want those bubbles to go down nice and smooth.

But aside from that, I bonded with Rebecca right away. I had a 4 week old baby at the time, and I was severely sleep deprived. Then I found out, this momma had twins!! We both had to slip into the other room to pump milk, and she was such a super-mom! :)
